The New CBD Seltzer

The New York Times claims CBD is the new avocado on toast. It’s everywhere. Its technical name is cannabidiol, and it's a non-psychoactive compound of cannabis. In other words, it's kind of good for you, and you can get it through the form of vitamin supplements and toiletries. A new trend, however, is to consume it as a seltzer.

Recess is a pioneer in this realm, introducing three distinct flavours of CBD seltzer. According to their website, Recess “is a sparkling water infused with hemp extract and adaptogens for balance and clarity.” Anything that’s intended to induce more balance and clarity into my life is something I will buy into, relentlessly. Hemp extract and adaptogens supposedly relieve stress and recharge the body’s endocannabinoid system, which all leads to a perkier mood. My personal favourite is the Pom Citrus flavour. It mildly resembles a generic kombucha, and it tastes delightful.

A six-can pack will cost you $30, and an eight-can pack comes to $39.99, respectively. For something that'll guarantee you highly Instagrammable photos, it's a pretty snatch price.

As for the more pressing question about whether it’ll get you high, I’m afraid the answer is no.
